The Rosebank way:  Vegetables grown for taste!

Rosebank Farms is a Certified South Carolina farm operated on John’s Island by Sidi Limehouse and Louise Bennett.   Membership is available in the farm’s Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program.  This opportunity allows members to invest in the farm.  In return, Rosebank provides members with a regular share of fresh, seasonal, local vegetables and fruits.  “We look upon the members of our CSA as partners in healthy eating habits,” says Sidi.  “We sell produce to some of the finest restaurants in the Charleston area – why shouldn’t you and your family enjoy the same quality and freshness?”

For the past 20 years, Rosebank Farms has taken the lead in “local is best” and heirloom varieties of vegetables.  Kiawah, Seabrook and Johns Island residents know that vegetables grown at Rosebank Farms are grown for taste…not shelf life.  Others, by way of comparison, grow vegetables that are shipped elsewhere, and therefore, the premium is placed on growing crops that will withstand a long shipping cycle and still look good.  As Sidi points out, “Vegetables known for taste, not for shipping, are best for our customers and for our future in such a tempestuous age.”
